AIOU starts M.Phil program for accredited journalists

Islamabad: Special M.Phil (Professional Track) degree program for qualified journalists has started in Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) from the present semester.

Accoridng to an announcement made by the admission department of the university, the admission for this programme has been opened and the practicing journalists, holding master-degree in Mass Communication or journalism are eligible to apply for admission till March 6^th, 2017.

The announcement further added that, the M. Phil degree for the journalist community has been introduced on the personal strategy of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Shahid Siddiqui who wished to facilitate the journalists in improving their academic qualification as well as their professional abilities.

According to the plan, already approved by the Academic Council of the university, senior media practitioners would be invited to share their knowledge as well as ability along with their fellow colleagues as visiting resource persons.

Besides this, the Department of Mass Communication of the university has developed short-term courses in different media disciplines that would be introduced soon as well.
