Islamabad: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has introduced the six short-term courses to promote skill and knowledge-based courses in agricultural zone.
The candidates who wish to get admission in these courses can submit their admission forms till September 5th (autumn 2016 semester).
The newly introduced courses by AIOU related to the plant protection, oil seed crops production, farm machinery, dairy farming, poultry farming, ‘jadeed zirat’ enhanced techniques of fruit production, Home and farm operational management as well as farm income generating skills.

The Vice Chancellor of university said that the main objective of these courses is to enable the people of rural areas to earn their liveliness. The curriculum regarding these courses was being updated to arm their students along with the latest techniques in agricultural field.
In addition to these programmes, the admissions of ‘Postgraduate Diploma’ in five different disciplines are also open including: Gender and Women Studies, Human Resource Management (HRM), Diatec for dieticians and nutrition for Physicians.
Associate Degree in Commerce has also been introduced in 9 diverse disciplines. These specializations comprise of: Accounting and Finance, Banking & Finance, Hospital Management, Hotel Management, Human Resource Management, Information Technology Management, Marketing Management and Tourism Management. Last date for the admission in these programmes is September 5th, 2016.

The university has established ‘Prospectus Sale Points’ at Tehsil level crosswise the country to facilitate the new candidates at their door-step.
