Karachi, The Chairman of Department of Statistics, University of Karachi, Prof Dr Mudassir Uddin on Monday announced admissions in Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) courses.
According to Prof Dr Mudassir, the process of admission in PGD in statistics would commence from December 3.The admission forms can be collected and submitted till December 21 from the Department of Statistics, University of Karachi. Admissions are granted on merit to all those who have passed the graduate level courses from a recognised institution, he said.
The list of successful candidates will be displayed on December 26 on the departmental notice board. Meanwhile, submission of fee will be completed from December 27 to January 4, 2013, followed by the commencement of classes from January 7, 2013, he said. The classes for PGD Statistics are scheduled from 3pm to 5:30pm.
Moreover, The University of Karachi announced that admissions in BS (Honors) on open merit basis in the departments of Arabic, Bengali, economics, education, English, general history, International Relations, Islamic History, Library & Information Science, Mass Communication, Persian, Philosophy, Political science, Psychology, Sindhi, Social Work, Sociology, Special Education, Urdu, Women Studies, Islamic learning, Applied Chemistry, Physics, Physiology, Food Science & Technology, Geography and other disciplines would start from November 20.
The admission forms could be obtained at payment of Rs.800/- up to November 29 from UBL branches.
Karachi University Director Admissions Prof. Dr. Khalid Iraqi told that date for the submission of admission forms for Test-based admission programs has been extended for further two days, while November 19 was the last date for submission of forms of the same program.
The University of Karachi was established by an act of Pakistan parliament in June, 1951. The present campus, to which the University shifted in 1959, is spread over 1279 acres of land, situated 12 Km away from the city center.
