Abbottabad: Comsats Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) ranked topmost university in the country. Total 796 fresh graduates were presented degrees during the annual convocation of Comsats University’s Abbottabad campus on Monday.
The vice chancellor of university, Dr Syed Muhammad Junaid Zaidi presented degrees upon young men and women who had graduated from the departments of Pharmacy and Engineering at the varsity.

Out of these graduates, 273 were awarded degrees of BS civil, electrical and electronics engineering. PhD degrees were also awarded.
Dr Zaidi, said that after 16 years, the university had managed to reach the topmost rank among 180 universities of the state.
He furthermore said that, apart from Comsats, no other Pakistani university had made it to the international list of 500 universities.

Referring to research papers published by the varsity, Dr Zaidi said they had 1,200 publications last year. Though, he said the university was aiming to raise these to 1,600 this year.
